Thread: Safety Switch Wiring

Thank you both, all working now. I connected neutral supply to the coil and left everything else as was. Motor connected to 2 & 6img_20210428_112554444.jpg

I am trying to wire up this switch (above) to a small single phase lathe. I have followed the diagram, but the magnetic switch does not operate/energize. If I activate the switch with the manual button, the output to the motor becomes live as expected. Can’t see what I have done wrong, help!

Thread: Chuck Key Size

Howard, thank you for your detailed reply, luckily I found a key that fits well enough lurking in a drawer .

Old Mart, yes I should fit a tray, I just set the lathe up quickly to make sure it was operational. (It is)

I can answer my own question, I have found a Jacobs No K30S in a drawer that fits OK.

Hi, my first post of what I am certain will be many. I have just acquired a Perfecto lathe (copy of ML4?) from the 1960's. It came without a chuck key for the tailstock, none of the keys I have fit, can anyone advise which key I need? I can't see how to attach a picture. Thanks
