Hi all i am trying to cut a 5/8 BSW thread on lathe, it is a chinese cd 210v lathe i have changed gear wheel to suit 11 tpi but when i cut thread it comes out at 2.5 on the thread gauge any idea what i am doing wrong please

Hi I'm Julian from Snape I'm fairly new to machining done a little at college when I was 16 but that was 53yrs ago.

Do a bit of woodworking but have always wanted a small lathe, my project at the present is refining the Chinese lathe I have obtained.

The reason for asking question is I have adjusted the plates on saddle there good but I can twist saddle from left to right it is a bit hard to explain. Hope you can understand

Hi I am new to machine work have bought a 7x12 lathe CD 210V and need help, I am trying to find out what the original gear set up is for the power feed . Got in a bit of a muddle with the gears.🤔
