Thread: Warco WM14 Motor Replacement
20/01/2021 12:45:37

Thanks for the replies. Amadeal, ArcTrade and Chester Machines are all on my list of options. Unfortunately they seem to use brushless 600w motors but I can always try. I've learned a lot about DC motors and control circuits over the last few days!

I've seen the posts about cooling and plan to fit a large fan when I get it back up and running.

Hopefully I'm posting in the correct Forum - I'm new here.

I've got a Warco WM14DRO which I've blown the motor on. My own fault, I was pushing it too hard.

Unfortunately Warco won't won't have any replacement motors for 12 weeks. I've tried replacing the motor end cap (which they did have in stock) but that didn't help and I've since confirmed a winding fault.

Does any one know of a suitable drop in replacement from another supplier? I've seen plenty that look the same but I can't find the correct wattage. The Warco label says it is a 93-ZYT004C (240V, 500w, 5000rpm and 2.0 amp). I'm happy replacing the horsepower resistor in the control board if needed for a different wattage motor but I'd like some confirmation of one that works.

Failing that can anyone recommend a rewinding specialist?
