Welcome to the forum John. A VFD/motor bundle for the Emcomat may not be much more than a decent 3 phase converter.

Neil

i was thinking this too, one suggestion was VFD wired to existing high speed wiring on motor and use the vfd to adjust the low speed setting

for mill i am thinking VFD for motor and then see if i can get feed motor and suds motor re wired or cheap 220v replacement

rob best set both machines up with all new switches and wiring for the VFD and remove old stuff

Hey John,

I'm also from Ireland. Based in Dublin. How about yourself?

Welcome, and hello.

Regards,

Del

I am based in limerick so my selection of equipment is even smaller than the midlands or Dublin.

worst part is all the lovely equipment in UK for lot cheaper then in here

Trust you are a Munster supporter, then!

No other way to be.

Good morning everyone,

Been lurking around here for a while and said I better join up.

Not sure I can offer much help but have many questions lined up.

New toys

No idea what I am going to do with them but happy I have it

- A Beaver mill, sourced and checked by good friend of mine.

Needs few bits but once house is built ill start finding a home for it.

Missing the handles for the knee (splines shaft) and few other handles

If anyone has few parts for it I’d be happy as missing an inspection cover

- Emcomat 7 lathe donated by friend of mine who had it for 10 years and never used it.

It has 2sp 3ph motor and someone has tried convert to single phase using the capacitor for the mill head.

Think it’s missing 2 of the 3 thread cutting gears

Also need decide how to provide power to these.

Vfd not ideal for 2speed lathe

Vfd suit the mill but not sure will power the feed table and the aids pump

Cheers

John
