Thread: 2" Traction Engine Boiler |
14/06/2022 11:55:05 |
Hi, quite new to this but thought I would ask the experts. I have one of my late fathers all copper boilers in 2" scale I understand The diameter of the tube is 4 1/2" and the length 18 3/8" ( 115mm x 465mm). There are 12 copper tubes and the boiler is stamped R.C.285, the maker I guess. The copper is very thick and all silver soldered. I would like to know if possible what traction engine this was made for. Thank you |
Thread: Stuart Turner Steam Hammer Lubricator and shut off vale Drawings |
23/07/2020 21:42:20 |
Hi all, I recently listed asking for help with a valve for my No9 and got a great offer of help so I would like to ask another favoure if I may. I have bought a Stuart Turner Steam Hammer and it does not have the lubricator or shut off valve often seen on these models. Stuart Turner drawings are only for the model and not these extras. I understand there are drawings out there so if anyone has a copy, I am happy to pay for a copy plus postage. Or an email picture would be good or can anyone tell me where I can get a set of drawings to finish my model. |
Thread: Stuart Turner No.9 Slide Valve |
10/04/2020 15:47:04 |
Hi John, sorry not being specific, yes plenty of air coming from the exhaust port but almost none for anywhere else (seals) is what i should have said. I have managed to get hold of the drawings now for the No.9 so will crack on and make it from the casting I have. Thanks for your input. |

Hi all, very new to this and would like some help please if possible. I have recently bought a Stuart Turner No.9 from auction which looked very good, well built etc. I tried in on air and although no air was escaping, nothing happened. I took off the valve chest cover to find there was no valve, the rod is there but with no slide valve, it is not going to work. I have bought a slide valve casting but do not have the No.9 drawings to help me machine the it. Does anyone have the drawing of the slide valve they could email me. Would be very helpful. |
