Thread: Warco WM14 Z-axis power drive?

That looks just the jobby, well done

Is that a Nema 34 you have used with a belt drive?

Did you post a thread on how you did this, if not any chance of some specifics please?

Have you put one on the x axis as well?

I have a WM 14 and due to arthritis in my hands am finding it increasingly difficult to wind the topmost main vertical adjustment wheel on the z axis. The larger models have it coming out of the side. I am wondering if I can put a motor on it to make life easier. It is just to move it up and down to within range of the micro z-axis feed.

Thread: Warco Digital Spindle Height Gauge?

To set 'zero' to a number other than 0.

-Hold down Zero button until 'S' flashes in display

-Use up and down arrows to set display to desired number.

-Press Zero again to display new zero point.

To reset, follow above steps.

Yep I contacted Warco today and they sent me a link to a video and also a pdf. I am rewriting the pdf for them as it doesn't point out the critical requirement that you mention in your reply... " Hold down Zero button until 'S' flashes in display" this is why I couldn't set it. So now I have it sussed thank you. It is basically and offset.

The video was very good... **LINK**

I have recently purchased a Warco WM 14 and it has a Digital Spindle Height/Ruler Gauge. There are 5 buttons. One turns it on/off, there is one to zero and one for imperial metric. But there are also two others which is an arrow pointing up and another pointing down. I have scanned the Internet and cannot find anything (including the Warco Operators manual) that tells me what the are for. I was assuming they allow you to increment up or down when the spindle is controlled from the micro adjustment dial on the front, but neither button seems to change anything when I push them. Is there some sort of combination or is this a known problem?

Thread: Super Mini Lathe belt problem
08/05/2021 20:24:10

I am interested to read some of the comments in here especially the ones referring to "professional" mini lathes. What is, and where is a "professional" mini lathe? I have just ordered a Warco Super Mini lathe and various other bits for it including a stand (albeit a WM180 one). The reason for this is that I have a Colchester Bantam with masses of tooling and Pratt & Burnard collets, but it is 3 phase and I have to stand over it whenever I need to use it. As I do a lot of very fine work now I want something I can just spin up and move across my bench to use. The Warco Super Mini seems the perfect jobby. I appreciate I will probably have to make a cross slide and saddle lockable but that is a fairly simple mod. The only gripe I have at the moment is waiting months to get one as they are slow arriving but that is understandable under the circumstances. So back to the topic "What are these "Professional" mini lathes spme folk are referring to?

As it happens I have a friend who has been looking at this lathe during last week and asked me for info since I had a Chinese mini-lathe for 10 years and grew to like it a lot, making much of my first clock on it as well as lots of other items.

That's a very useful piece of information. Thank you. I see there a are couple of mods on youtube regarding the topslide. I may have to look into them.

I am in the queue for purchasing a Warco Super mini DRO lathe and would be interested if anyone has a similar spec quick change tool-post. The actual Warco one doesn't look too impressive to me but if anyone has one I would be interested in any comments. I have seen various alternatives on the market so any advice (even on other things regarding the Super Mini) who be interesting.
