Glenn I bought mine from Inverterdrive.Com. They were a little more expensive than the ones on eBay but I felt it was worth it to get a known brand. I went for the 56 range which give sensorless vector drive. In theory you should get better torque and smoother running at low rpm. |

Thanks Paul, I’ll get mine on eBay when I’ve had chance to photograph it.
Glenn I’ve used Bosch Rexroth inverters and you can set two motor profiles so it is possible to switch between the two. ( that was my plan.) The table and saddle are quite easy to remove but you will need a hand. The table is quite heavy. |

Hi Glenn There used to be a manual advertised on eBay for the omnimill. About £10 if I remember correctly. Not the most informative document but better than nothing. Can I ask what your mill cost ? I’m going to sell mine so interested to know what they fetch. Edited By Julian Lockyear on 05/10/2020 17:06:43 |

Hi Alex, I have a 11-30 industrial with the 9 speed gearbox and screw cutting gearbox 12 ratios. Not sure if they are the same feeds etc but you can see them on lathes.co.uk under modern Boxfords. If there are any plates the same I can send you photos no problem. 👍 PS. Just read the specs and I think you have the same screw cutting and feeds but a 6 speed spindle gearbox ?

Hi Mark, I can’t really comment on depth of cut having not really given mine any real challenges cutting steel yet. As for fine feed, it is a shame it’s lacking. The knee is quite heavy on the handwheel. It would benefit from the handle type with a dog clutch or even a larger wheel. I had thought of using a nut under the quill depth stop together with a dial indicator to provide an easy way to put on a fine cut. I haven’t had my machine working long but can agree with others it is certainly a very versatile machine. Edited By Julian Lockyear on 30/06/2019 14:31:46 |

Looking really tidy and ready for some work!!! I have a similar Mill and will be fitting a new motor and inverter drive in the near future. I also need to make an overarm support before doing anything serious with the horizontal spindle. Are you planning on fitting a DRO ? That is also on my list. I had considered filling the head support arm with concrete to stiffen it up. I doubt I'll be around long enough for it to rust through Looking forward to reading more on your project. |
