ME4717 Miscollation

If you are a subscriber to Model Engineer and have just received your latest issue you may find that the pages are miscollated. They are all there but not necessarily in the right order. This was caused by a printer error. The issue is currently being reprinted and subscribers should receive a replacement copy within the next few days.

Alternatively, in the spirit of one aspect of model engineering, you could consider the issue as a kit and rearrange the pages yourself!

We apologise for the inconvenience but be assured that we are 'on the case'.

Thread: My Traction Engine Model

Yes, I remember Minibrix - when I was quite small my neighbour Nigel (my hero - his Dad worked for the LNER at Doncaster!) had a set. I had a Bayko set, which I still have. I also had a Brickplayer set at one point - and a lot of fun mixing up the paste - although flour worked quite well too. To get the building apart again you put it in a large bowl of warm water.

Thread: To be continued--was it?

Hi Peter,

There has been no continuation of 'Manual to CNC' for the simple reason that I have nothing to publish yet! There are many possible reasons for this, which I won't clog up the forum with, but if you email me ([email protected]) I can go into more detail.

The good news is that you haven't missed anything.

Thread: Yet Another Martin Evans

It would be just like the film, wouldn't it? "I'm Martin Evans" - "No, I'm Martin Evans" - etc. etc. It would certainly make life simpler though - then we could all just be numbers.

It seems I'm the seventh Martin Evans to join this forum! There's a lot of us about... I've had a sporadic interest in Model Engineering for the last 30 years (depending on time and facilities), which has become more serious since retirement, now that I have more time for it. I have a reasonably well equipped workshop (ML7, Myford vertical mill and a Boxford CNC mill under restoration) which also contains a GWR pannier tank and a GWR 1400 (both almost complete) and an LNWR 'Problem' class loco to Chris Rayward's design (just the chassis, plus an almost finished boiler). Work on these locos is suspended just now as I am busy building a garden railway. All of this is in 5" gauge. Now that the winter is approaching though, I hope to progress the locos a bit and maybe even finish one - probably the pannier!
