Basically I need (or think I need) such a long extension to reach into the workpiece, a large lampshade, to steady it for final turning , sanding and finishing. I can't use a centre steady as I would on a smaller piece as it's so large I'm operating near the limit of my lathes capabilities and there just isn't room underneath. I also thought that stacking up several might not be sturdy enough and could introduce a bit of play. I would pref 2mt, as all of my bits and bobs are 2mt Vic, thanks for that link, they might be good. Graham, thanks also for yours. I couldn't get it to work but found it the old fashioned way. Couldn't see how long they are but I was being distracted y a six year old.

Hi Guys, This is my first time here, and I have to be honest, I'm not a model engineer-I only signed up because I need something made, so mod feel free to move this to the correct part of the forum. Essentially what I need is a 300mm long morse taper extension sleeve that is 2mt both ends, and am finding it impossible to find one to buy. I am a woodturner and don't have the kit or tools to do it, though hopefully one day I will. Can anyone help m, or at least point me in the right direction? Many thanks Dan.
