Thread: Help with identification

Mine also has a chuck with it. As you say, it's a really useful piece of kit. I suspect dad purchased it at an exhibition as well. As for tool dealers, they are becoming so rare, gutted that"the toolbox" at colyton is closed/closing it was one of the few good places within an hour drive of me. I still have some things of dads that I have not checked out yet so I'm sure to find some other "good bits".

Thank you Chris. That's a hell of a lot more info than I knew an hour ago! A quick Google search hasn't thrown up any more information. It works well and is accurate so I'm happy with that.
Thanks very much.

Brilliant gentlemen. Thank you. There was no way I was going to make a decision as I find it almost impossible to decide things like that. I did search for charts like that and couldn't find them, also aprogram called boxfthreadp to see if that would help me decide without finding it. Yes Rod. Those tolerances are certainly close enough. I can't imagine running any threads long enough for it to matter. Now to clean up and advertise the standard super 7!
Thanks again.
David.

I am lucky enough to have 2 super 7's and other lathes however "she".... Wants the stable back so I need to get rid of one of the myfords. I am about to start metric thread cutting and will rarely need to cut any other. One myford has a gearbox the other does not. I can't decide which to sell. When I first bought one I believed "gearbox must be better" however now I will be practically 100 metric I can't decide. Buy the conversion kit, or a set of gears (well, the 2 I haven't got). What would others do?
