I have purchased a CY90 bandsaw this week and hope to get it together soon pending how to make room for it in the small workshop. I questioned Warco about the specification on its cutting capacity but I didn't seem to be on the same wave length, I could not get the answer I was looking for. Looking at it in the box I was surprised what good value it looks, nice finish, and at over 41kg quite a sturdy machine. I needed the bandsaw so I just brought it, and with the vague answer I got I am still happy with it even though I have not plugged it in yet. My question was at 90 deg it will cut 90mm, 45 deg it will cut 65mm, thats what I don't understand, The post from Rod states that he has cut 4 inch dia, so what is 90 deg and 45 deg cutting. If I put 90mm round bar in the vice will it cut it. that basically what I was asking, if it will only cut 65mm then I am stll happy with it. |

With advice given I have decided to make remake the power cylinder with a steel liner and cast iron piston. The drawing and advice given shows a sealed displacer piston. I was to put a minimum vent hole in this as I thought of expansion when hot, am I correct or not. I am grateful for these replies as my questions must seem rather basic as to question on this forum. |

Thanks for your replies on this, I didn't really have clue on the displacer piston being 1mm smaller than the cylinder. It seems obvious now, hot air moved to cooling power piston creating the vacuum. Can the displacer piston be made out of solid brass, as the drawing shows it being hollow. I have made the power piston out of aluminum as well as the cylinder if thats correct. |

Hello, as I have now made most of the parts for the Stirling Engine H8101 from the drawings on the Grizzly web site, I need the dimensions for the hot cap which are not shown. I contacted Grizzly and asked to purchase the part, but a minimum of $200 and a minimum 70lb shipping weight. I also asked the technical department if I could have the dimensions but they refused. They suggested if I knew someone in the USA they could post the part to me. I understand that the dimensions for hot and cooling pistons are important, I have made the 13mm cooling cylinder and piston. If anybody has the dimensions for this hot cap it will be much appreciated. Thanks for any replies |

Thanks for your advise John, but I have to get two flywheels out of a 100x50mm round billet, and parting off is going to be a problem. I think my only way is to part off around 20mm then use the hacksaw. I was going to buy two 100x 25 disks but I thought I could get three out of the 100x50, but I have created hard work for myself. Hello, I am not new to this forum, but was having problems logging on so I have had to open a new account. I have to make two flywheels 13mm wide 95mm dia out of a 50mmx100mm aluminum round. The axle is 3mm I have a sx2p milling machine and a lathe, the chuck will take 100mm if I reverse the jaws. I have my own ideas how I can do this,but would like to know other techniques, other problem is parting off 95mm, or go so far the use a hacksaw. Thanks for any replies
