I have recieved some more pictures their in my album but I am unable to insert them into this thread?(if admin could assist would be appreciated) sadly there is no more information on what this item is and there not as clear as I would of hoped,

I don't own this item, my good lady had seen it on her social media and sent it to me, where someone had asked is this a lathe? So out of interest I thought I'd post it on here for the knowledgeable panel to have a look, I have no other pictures other than this one but it does look very interesting and I would like to have a look over it myself and to see it it action,

I have the Alba a1 shaper, I found the motor that came with it was a single shape 3/4hp 1425 rpm with what looked like the original pulley, the shaper was running way to fast so I got around the problem by putting a 2 1/4" pulley on, now may shaper runs almost to the rpm stated on the plaque

I thick this is a very good idea for the area, I lived near Bedale for many years ( hunton) before moving away I wished their had been a engineering club then which I could of joined and learnt from, most people who live in rural areas like the Dales tend to have cars, so commuting may not be an issue for them, also having cattrick and raf leeming etc near by you may find you get some interest from personnel station there?

So I think go for it and start the club 😁👍👍👍

Hi everyone,
Alba a1 shaper,
I am replacing the pivot pin at the bottom of the yoke. it is a 1.1/4", I have brought some en24t of the correct size and cleaned the out side surface from when it was made or stored, but I have found when I am trying to put it through the casting it is extremely tight, I know it has to be a snug fit, so I have measured the old one and found the new one has a14 thou bigger diameter, although it does go in to The Casting with difficulty I'm worried it may break the Casting would it be advisable to remove the pin before I go too far in and turn it down?

Just seen on E pay their is I clutch assemble for the Elliott 10m? Is this the same as the alba one? Might be some use if it is?

I just have just brought one of these shaper's yesterday and I am going to restore it, it looks in fairly good condition, is their anywhere I can find out the date of manufacturer?

I use three bisley 15 draw files (a4 type) bolted together with a metal frame at the base on wheels, it's ideal for my small workshop.
