One afternoon, an engineering student was riding across campus on a shiny new bike. He ran into a friend of his, also an engineering student, who said, "Wow! That sure is a great bike. Where did you get it?" "Well, the darndest thing happened," said the first engineering student. "A girl came riding up to me and got off the bike, threw off all her clothes, and said that I could have anything that I wanted." "Wow," remarked his friend. "That's great. Good move. Her clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway." |

What is the definition of an engineer? Answer: Someone who solves a problem you didn't know you had, in a way you don't understand. |

I admit to being a PMR fan and am just starting on a replica of their workshop as shown on their website, eight machines. engine, boiler etc. Would be good to see a PM picture thread of any of their models. Thanks BB Edited to say I did ask PM if ok with them, More than surprised to receive a fully dimensioned drawing of their own site one complete with a fully itemised list of all the pulleys, shafting etc that would be needed, Well pleased. Workshop is 48 inches long by 18 inches wide by 12 inches high

Long admired the PM Research 1/12 scale machine tools - eight in total. P M Research have a nice model workshop on their website showing all tools with overhead lineshafts etc. Asked if they would mind if I made a copy of their workshop as I just needed to order the last two kits and the lineshafts etc. Outstanding reply. Sent me a fully dimensioned drawing of their workshop, Then came the full list of tools needed for each model, tap size, die size etc. This was followed by a fully itemised list of all the items needed to build as displayed plus quantities and cost per item and total cost. The castings are superb - hardly need touching. Just google P M Research - they do some excellent stationary engine kits, boilers etc , well worth a look. If anybody has these volumes would be grateful if they could send me a PM, please. i think they are around the 1982 -3 period. Reason for asking - would like to know which issues a particular model was described in so I know which issues to source on the internet. Thank you. BB Edited By Billy Bean on 23/02/2018 16:00:01 |
