This is the newly designed oil injection point. It has a snifting valve which wasn't originally provided. The oil is fed through a 0.5mm hole into a venturi. The hole visible in the photo is 1.2mm diameter and a stub with the aforementioned 0.5mm hole carries the oil to the centre of the venturi bore. |

Replacing bits missing from the backhead and rearranging to steam feed for the gauge glass so that it doesn't come from the manifold. |

Piston, crosshead and a bottom cover. The steam oil had been introduced into the flow immediately above the manifold branch to number two cylinder. The other two must have been oil starved, causing the seizure and the yarn packing to have been eaten. |

Thanks chaps - I ordered the taps and tapping drills for M1 and M1.2 yesterday. I've already received the stainless cheese head screws for the elbow lids. It's going to make me sweat fitting them. I've modified an air chisel hammer this last week to drive rivets. Seems to work with snap heads with a 1.7 times diameter stick through. The drawing seemed to be overkill, but at least I got the hole and slot in the right place for it to fit together nicely. Kind regards Steve |

Have got a bit further over the last four weeks. The conduit castings and handles arrived today, the latter have been fitted this afternoon. A revised under chimney panel is fitted with a load of M2 button heads, along with the chimney, lamp and front sand fillers. I was impressed with a roll forming tap used to tap the body frames under power. Never used one before, but they're brilliant. I got a nickel plating kit from Gateros in Lincoln. I was very pleased with the results and the technical chat I had with them. Usual disclaimer. Gateros Plating

Thanks Paul, a 7.25" gauge. Scale is 1:3.26. There are other pictures of my chuffing about in the work in progress if you're interested. Here and here Steve Edited By Steve Addy on 28/02/2021 16:21:23 Edited By Steve Addy on 28/02/2021 16:24:38 |

Under tank panel bolted on with all dummy rivets in, there are some button heads above the doors which are not fitted as they are in the post. The under chimney panel will be replaced as this first effort is not quite right, but you get the idea. |

Got a bit further with the Baldwin, namely cab windows and window handle model rendering below, the castings now exist for the conduit fittings and I'm getting on with the bodywork. The panel under the tank is now fitted. Edited By Steve Addy on 28/02/2021 16:12:53 |

Panel bent after marking it with the centres of the bends. I don't know why it is sideways! |

Holes drilled in tank bracket feet. Centre lines marked on panel and body framing. The outer lines show the extent of the flat top/start of the bend. |
