Hi,I'm thinking of buying a mig welder I can stick weld and have done a little tig.I have never done mig but it looks fairly straight forward.I have a large full bottle of argon and the hoses and so on to do tig.I have seen on the auction site that you can get a welder that does both mig and tig has anyone go one of these and are they any good,if not which mig would you recomment for infrequent hobby use? |

Yes theSeimec is run by the inverter. No pilot motor.Which control gear?Everything on lathe, mill and bandsaw work just like if they plugged into mails three phase. |
27/08/2020 14:34:10 |
Emgee all I do is flick the switch on the mill or bandsaw and it changes speed. |
26/08/2020 20:05:19 |
Hi guys .w ell that generated a bit of discussion.I'm only a hobbist and built the rotary inverter myself.I run a bandsaw and a mill with two speed motors with the inverter.I was told at the time that a VFD would have problems running and two speed motor and would be expensive to buy. |

Thanks for all the replies I will get a power meter as well.So I hooked up a clamp on ammeter the inverter while idling is drawing 2.6 amps. When I turn the lathe on it draws 5.6amps and when I do a heavy cut its 6.4 amps |
