Thread: DRO on a WM18 mill
26/01/2015 19:21:24

I've got the ones in the OPs link fitted to a lathe. You need to look at the claimed accuracy of the scales, especially on the longer lengths. I've got the Sino glass scale dro on my WM18 size milling machine (Warco WM32) which I'm pretty happy with. Obviously not comparing eggs with eggs due to cost difference between the two systems.

Thread: What did you do today (2015)

Screwfix had wet n dry VAC's on offer before Xnas, Titan brand. I got one for general workshop cleaning, sucking up swarf etc. Very powerful, but noisy but not an issue. Shifts everything off the miller and lathe. Recommended. ☺

Machined the crankcase for the Nemett Lynx I'm doing at the moment. Decided to make the engine mounting bearers integral with the case.

Thread: Warco WM18 Power X Feed?
07/01/2015 21:07:23

I got an X axis power feed from Amadeal just before Xmas. Their WM18 size machine is the 32 type from memory, same machine, different colour. The power feed bolts straight on, works fine.

I've got a WM280V. Very pleased with it, robust and accurate. Warco good company to deal with.
