Stew, Well I think your expectations were wrong .... As stated in a previous post - M-Materials terms and conditions clearly quotes - "Goods will usually be despached within 10 working days or as soon as complete." So you should not have expected your material in less that 10 days . They often do ship in less than that, remember what your are ordering is not off the shelf .... they have to take for example a 3m length of steel and cut it into what ever lengths you have ordered. This takes time. 10/14/21 and even 28 days can be the norm for some businesses .... we have all got used to and spoilt by the 1-2 days delivery from the likes of Amazon ... I'm afraid that this model does not always work in Engineering. Dave
If you're happy with such a service that's fine with me. whats so bad about a 1 to 2 day service, shouldn't all companies aspire to that. This is their problem, its on the home page (JOB VACANCY Experienced Engineer Required) I would apply but I'm far to busy giving my customers a 1 to 2 day services

Hi Mike I've used m-machine and found them to be very good. www.m-machine-metals.co.uk. Bob.. And on the back of this I placed a largish order which was acknowledged within 24hrs. Its been a week today and I hadn't heard a word from them so I dropped them an email and cancelled the order, within an hour I got this email response from them. Sorry for the delay, (I have cancelled your order) I can recommend them for answering emails but nowt else. I've now placed my order with GLR, I will let you all know how I get on with them. Stew please don't think I'm being disrespectful but don't you think you are being a bit hasty cancelling the order I have often waited for much more than a week for stuff Best Wishes Martin

Hi Martin These people are supposed to be running a business, not a hobby, so they should manage their customers expectations. I think 7 days and no sign of an invoice yet alone the goods is unacceptable so Ive done what everybody should do and gone elsewhere. Stew

Posted by Bogstandard2 on 22/11/2013 11:59:53: Either my local postman are a bunch of thieves (which I very much doubt), or the sellers are rip off merchants. _________ If a packet doesnt go through the letter box and the customer is out, the postman should leave a card, but do they heck, if they run out or not bothered to take any with them then thats that. You go down to the sorting office and its sorry Sir we always leave a card and without a tracking number we cannot help you. There was a time when to be a postman you had to sign the official secrets act, I'm sure these days you just have to be a crook to work for them. Ebay are charging about 17% of the total sale which is roughly what Amazon charges, plus you probably have Paypal fees on top as I do, but it all goes to a good 'cause' because I don't think any of these pay their taxes in the UK. Its just ordinary hard working folk that are honest in this country, the rest are just out to rip us off. Thats got that off my chest, so I can now get back to my shed and make some swarf or sawdust.
