Evening Trebor, You're not a sweet factory are you? I'm right in the middle of making some double bow windsor chairs at the moment (as you are interested I've attached an image) so the myford lathe is out of action for a while. As soon as it is convenient I will set the Rotary Table/Angle Plate up and post some images for you. It could be as early as next week. Len. P. P.S. I've had to post this response in IE as I can't get the reply box to appear on Firefox, has anybody any ideas? You still sat admiring those chairs ? |

For quality look for the value they quote as the TIR value: the smaller the better, 0.0002" is good. If they don't quote it. don't be surprised if it is not very good. Jo I,m unsure what the TIR stands for, is it a total run out ? |

I'm after a set of Er40 collets and not sure which ones to get. Rdg do sets, Gloster tools, Chronos have sets along with Vertex ones which are supposed to be better quality. Any advice welcomed. Will also need to make a Lathe er collet chuck. Could you tell me a good place to buy enough EN8 bar to do the job. |

Has the Vertex rt got any slots in the base for securing ? |

Cheers Len, and Les I don't think you can get dividing plates for that one plus the Vertex one should be better quality I hope. |

Refering to Len's set up on the lathe vertical slide
I know this was a long time ago but have you any pictures to make it clear, as I've been looking into getting one of these along with deviding plates. Rdg tools told me it was too big to fit on my myford and tried selling me a cheaper one.
