Thread: milling on lathe

seen mention of miling using lathe.

how do you do it, and what tools do you use?

starting to get hang of using my lathe now and want to try to expand knowledge.

main thing i would want to do at moment is to put some m10 clearance slots in some 30 x 5 mm flat stock.

got old cross stitch angle light with magnifying lense on it for mine.

just removed one of cap heads holding top cover on then made holder from bit of 20mm rd.

just found an old tct circular saw blade.

its in good nick was off saw that packed up.

is it possible / safe to cut strip out with tooth on to use as parting off tool?

sorry if this is in wrong place.

am building stand for my clarke cl430 lathe.

am planning on drawers on one side and shelves on other with coolant pump in bottom.

putting flexible light at chuck end with strip light above.

splash guard and self leveling feet.

would love any more ideas and to see pics of others stands pls.
