I've looked at hpc but they are a tad too expensive for my project

Very valid points that you've made but I'm not that concerned if I have to go abroad for the gears, although I would prefer a UK source.

Thanks for the suggestion but they don't appear to have bevel gears, looks a good source for direct drive gears though.

Has anyone any idea where I could buy angular plastic gears 60 or 120 degree probably 12 and 60 teeth

You could also try D P Fasteners in Gateshead 0191 4177846, I use the all the time for work.
