Hi again still having injector problems pulling my hair out. yesterday took to the club to Run raised steam injector working fine took it on track after one lap it stopped working. before going their the clacks have been changed for new ones i have changed all pipework to make sure no leaks i have washed boiler out with first costic solder the citric acid. i then used air line blew out through bypass repeated again filling with boiling water and citric acid left for another hour the drained and gave good plush out with hose conected left running. it seems each time i run it the injectors stop working even though i stripped them soaked in citric acid gave a good blow out. i tried open valve so water coming out the open steam very slow water just pours out the bottom. held a peice wood bottom of injector you coul hear it going into the boiler but as soon as i remove the wood it just poured out the bottom again. just dont know what else i can try any sugestions please Ron |

Sorry to hear that Ron, although I suppose its been inevitable since the decision to close down the power station. How would the club feel about an invitation to forum members to come along one Sunday in March to give you a good send off and hopefully lift your spirits and enthusiasm to keep something going, even if it's a merger with another club? Neil Hi Neil i think they would love it gthe person seeing to <email addresses edited out> If you have a chat with any they can arrange with you if thats OK Neil Ron Edited By Neil Wyatt on 08/02/2017 14:59:57 |

Ron; This is very sad news indeed. It looks like you have a nice track there. This must be very disheartening. Are you going to find a new site, or move in with another society, or disband? Have you decided yet? John. We are not certain of the future we will keep the club but most of our members relise we are to old to move to a new site and set up. We have asked to buy the land we are still in no man's land. Its such a lovely Track and in a very secure site we have been very spoilt. just have to hope now. Ron

Rugeley power station has now closed so we will loose our track then. Our club has invited any clubs that would like to come and Run to come and join us. We have had several so nice to see so many diffrent Loco. Been running double headed with 20 plus adults riding if you go on our face book site you can see the Photo's. Going to run my Black 5 in 5" this sunday with the Nottingham club should be good fun. If you would like to see photo's have a look at Rugeley Power station society of model engineers we also put a lot on the 5" gauge site under John Dutton. hope you all have some good steaming this year Ron |

It may be the clack valve; it's often the case that the ball obscures the entrance hole, thus giving back pressure and the water squirts out of the overflow. Might not be enough lift of the clack valve ball to pass all the water. I will alter the distance from ball valve to top and try that thank you good advice Ron |

The symptoms suggest the cone distances/proportions may be out of whack. Is it/were they home made or bought in? Bought ones one from Reeves 2000 the other from Blackgates

It's great that you are there with it Ron. I've been quietly following the trials and tribulations, which has been most entertaining. That lining gives it good character I'm off to open the bottle of champagne that I've had on ice, waiting for you to finish, for god knows how long. Long may it run! All the best Steve Thank you Steve bet the Champayne is vintage now enjoy Ron |

That's great news Ron I hope you get a lot of running as you deserve it for the perseverance you have had in getting the loco to this point. If it is cold on the 27 just think of how that will look with a bit of throttle, get some pictures and let us see it running. Regards Martin Hi Martin thank you I took Video's last time I ran but pity I can't load a video would have loved to have shared it. Ron |

So pleased it's finished still got to change one injector but one is working plus hand pump. So surprised that the new injector still won't pick up but the first did not. Luckily Julian is going to Fix it for me when he gets chance. Looking forward to Christmas Run on 27 hope it's not too cold but sure the exit net I won't mind. Happy steaming Guys Edited By Ron Hancock on 01/12/2016 12:13:41 |
