Ady1 - Have you insider information that "Myford" parts will be made by Chingford Uk or Chingford ""Where""

13/12/2012 11:46:43

Hi

Am I getting confused !! - I buy my Myford spares from "Myford" link **LINK**

At the top of the page they state "Please note only Genuine Myford Products will be sold on this site, No copies or reproductions". I have had no problems with any of the parts that they have supplied and both the product and the packaging indicated "Myford England"

Thread: Myford Super7

Hi

Going from a list I downloaded from the "Original" Myford company site before it was closed, the nearest numbers listed are - 81275 = 1967. 82989 = 1968. 85000 = 1969 approx. 90125 = 1969.

You say that your number is stamped on the rear of the bed - normally they are numbered on the front of the bed on the headstock end, but I do know that some (mine included) were stamped on the rear at the tailstock end.

I contacted Myford before their demise and they could not offer any reason why the numbers were on the back other than "human error"

Hope this helps

Thread: shot blasting

Hi - If you can "Wet" sand/shot blast and have a pressure washer then try the sand/shot blasting nozzle which is available at many retail outlets - Matchine Mart being one. - Have been using one for quite a time with dry patio sand on small metal parts - make sute you dont blow the item away or cut holes in it as the abrasive power is very high.

Yes - My long curly swarf is Alu. -No good with magnet - Vac. picks it up but sometimes blocks in tube - usually cured by putting tube on blow side and blowing it out.

Had Lidl "Hot Ash" vac last time it came around - still using it for swarf and all other workshop waste - Very Good Value, works well but have to be careful with long curly drill swarf.

Is there any reason that The practical engineer - part 4 is not listed in the processes section
