Hi, I'm helping a friend continue a 5"G "Netta" he inherited when his father passed away. I'm trying to redraw the paper templates in CAD but I'm unsure of the best way to make he top edges of the tender meet up. As you can see in this picture **LINK** the top corners flare out and are rolled.
Is there an easy way to draw these angles and get them cut precisely? |
Thread: Paper drawings to DWG possible?? |

Thanks for all the replies, looks like I'm going to have to re-draw as my friend has come to me because it was too expensive to get a company to scan it for him. Which would you recommend out of Autocad and Draftsight for ease of use? I'm not new to cad but I am new to reproducing these sort of drawings, looks like i'm going to be on here a lot in the next few weeks. |

Hi, I have been asked to help a friend out with a project he inherited. We have old paper drawings of a 5"G Netta by LBSC which I have scanned and have in .pdf and .jpg formats. Can anyone offer any advice on the best way to convert these if possible to .dwg for use with a CNC machine?
Thanks |
Thread: Converting CAD files to PDF |
22/06/2012 16:33:45 |
as a few people have mentioned you can do this in autocad.
Go to print and where you select the printer, there will be an option to print "dwg to pdf" along with all the usual printing options like paper size, scale etc.
I use it all the time at work to send my CAD drawings as .pdf files so they can't be easily altered |
