radius cutter detail

A not-very-good photo which was intended to show my version of the radius cutter on Steve Bedair's website. The body sits on a "thrust" bearing - actually from a bicycle steering head - and four equally spaced brass pads to prevent any rocking. I fouind that this combination provides smooth rotary action combined with good stability to give a fine finish. Forming concave radius requires the tool to approach the workpiece from the rear and to run the lathe in reverse.
