First mark up the jaws and body with dots to aid reassembly, also mark the position of the sleeve on the body, this will affect the mesh of the key if you get it wrong. I used a Clarke 6 inch gear puller to pull off the sleeve. Don't press on the jaws which must be part-way closed or they bind internally. I rigged up some scrap items to bridge the open jaws. The chuck is held in the vice by the tang.
