Fusee stop-work

Positioned under the fusee, is a steel (spring-loaded) arm with a `V' notch in the end. It meshes with a snail-shaped hook screwed to the end of the fusee to prevent over-winding, and to avoid the drive line slipping off the fusee. The line actually pushes the arm into the locking position for the last complete turn of the winding key. The arm is pushed clear of the hook for all previous turns of the fusee.
