I really wondered if a mill pump from china would power my lathe they are real cheap now and with free post well I can say no more. The pump powered up but am still looking for 1/4 BPT fittings to connect it all up I obtained an 80mm waste from China , but am unsure that I will not make a metal one once I have seen how they make them. I had not thought about the lathe p;ate and the requirements of gaskets to stop the suds ending up on the floor. I made these out of Nitrile rubber shheets purchased on eBay. These can be made easily with a sharp knife . However i tried to lift the lathe and the plate only to find that I could not lift it hight enough to get the rubber gaskets in place. This was on a cold wintery day s decided to take it all apart and repaint. The drain i brought from a stockist in china as it was the only drain I could find in stainless. I turned it down and made new connections. The drain was clearing fluid well and worked how I expected.
