Sir Sam Fay 4-6-0 Great Central This was a scratch build Gauge one Live steam engine in a scale of 10 mm. Thanks go to Mark Wood for the wheel castings, Keith Cousins for the tender parts and Paul Forsyth for the side elevation drawing. This was moderately difficult project. Getting it to run was another problem. After months of pondering making a new boiler, it was discovered that a bad collet produced a leaking valve body. The boiler is silver brazed copper. The drive parts are brass or stainless steel with some tool steel for the valve motion. Frames are bronze plate. It is alcohol fired. Teflon seal are used throughout with Teflon rings.
